Garden Club

Fostering Education and Interest in Gardening

The Greentree Garden Club fosters education and interest in gardening and engages in garden-based community service.

  • The Club sponsors the garden at the Westside Post Office and maintains the Greentree Neighborhood sign and landscaping at Whitney Way and Piping Rock.

  • Members also maintain the landscaping at the neighborhood park signs. The Club supports the teaching garden at Milele Chikasa Anana Elementary School.

  • Most importantly, the Club gives members the opportunity to socialize and share their common interest in plants and the landscape.

In the past, The Greentree Garden Club has sponsored Garden tours and some homeowners shared their gardening experiences and know-how with tour participants. Professional gardeners were also on hand to answer questions and explain how they helped guide the development of the tour garden.

We’ve also held a plant sale during even-numbered years in May, where club members thinned their beautiful gardens and offered the "extras" for sale to other neighbors.

When

The Club meets monthly. Most meetings are on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Where

Meetings are usually held at the police station on McKenna Blvd. However, in good weather months the Club often schedules outdoor tours or garden visits.

Who Can Join?

The Club welcomes new members. Interest, not expertise, is required. Yearly dues are $20.
