Brush Collection No Longer Monthly
Cuts to the Madison Streets Division for 2010 means brush will be collected from April 5th through October 15th using the same rotation system we use for leaf collection.
Streets Division crews will begin collecting brush in Monday’s refuse collection districts. After completing collection in Monday’s area, crews will move into the Tuesday districts, then Wednesday’s districts, followed by the Thursday and then Friday refuse districts. Upon completion of Friday’s refuse district, crews will begin the cycle again in Monday’s district. More info at: www.cityofmadison.com/streets/collectionBrush.cfm
Ewwww…. Sewer Backups
Baby wipes – did you know that they don’t flush? Well, they do, but they don’t break down, and that’s when the fun begins. Be a good neighbor and — DON’T FLUSH BABY WIPES!
So, if it does happen that the sewer is backing up into your house, the immediate thing to do is to call the City Engineering Division at 266-4430 to determine if the public sewer main is blocked up.
City Engineering has a crew on duty between 7:30 am and 11:00 pm, every day of the year and on call at all times. After regular working hours, the Water Utility water works operator takes calls.
The City licenses sewer and drain cleaners, in order to protect the public and the City. The list of licensed contractors is at:

Dogs Belong in the Dog Parks....
Our “best friends” have a place to run, roll around in mud, meet (and sniff) new four-legged friends and even catch a ball or frisbee. The City of Madison Parks Division has four off-leash dog exercise areas for dogs and their human friends.
Please remember that dogs are not allowed (even on-leash) in most Madison parks (including ALL the parks in the Greentree neighborhood), children’s play areas, beaches, athletic fields and conservation parks. These areas are meant for children and families to run, play with their friends and catch a ball or frisbee. People and pets can play together, but in your own backyard - or at a dog park!

Digging Out . . .
Fire Hydrant Map
for the Greentree Neighborhood
When there is lots of snow - please dig out the hydrant near your home - a 3-foot circumference all
around the hydrant is recommended. The house you save might be your own!
Thank you!
