VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Check out our PSA and Schools pages for ideas on where you are needed!

The GTNA Board Needs New Voices

We could use a few more voices when the Greentree Board pipes up. A few portions of the neighborhood have vacancies and if you live in that area, you are invited to fill that opening. We strive for a diverse group of members to express opinions on neighborhood issues, bring new issues to our attention, act as a conduit to your neighbors and help us carry out Greentree events.

It's easy and no previous experience is necessary. We ask you to attend our monthly board meetings once a month for a bit more than an hour, act as a neighborhood "reporter" and help us introduce new neighbors to the association.

We currently have board vacancies in Area 4 (Greenwich, Strathmore, Hathaway, Devon Court and White Oaks); Area 7 Laurie, Alison, Romford and the northern half of Chapel Hill); and Area 11 (the southern half of Frisch, Woodington and Hammersley).

Please consider stepping up to the plate and volunteering to join the board. Contact GTNA President Larry Sperling to discuss the openings and time commitment, 274-0708 or e-mail area1@gtna.org

GTNA Volunteer Linda Johnson is “retiring”

The Greentree Board is looking for neighbor volunteers for the following important GTNA communications and membership coordination roles:

GTNA needs a volunteer EDITOR, to prepare the neighborhood newsletter, the “Stump.” We need the services of someone familiar with newsletter design who can to layout stories, insert graphics and forward the files electronically(as PDF files) to our printer. The files are currently prepared using Adobe InDesign, but any design program with which you are familiar could be used. The black-and-white, 8 page newsletter is produced five times a year and includes standing portions that would be maintained in each issue using existing templates. We especially need help from someone with newsletter design skills. Other help is available to help edit the copy if that is not your strong suit. The first “Stump” for the new person would be the October 1, 2012 issue, so duties would start around September 10, 2012.
